If you are looking for a Lake District self-catering holiday with lakeside access, nature at your fingertips and stunning scenery, then The Lingholm Estate is the perfect place for you.
Across the Estate we have eleven high-quality holiday properties, ranging from two-bedroom apartments in the main house right up to six bedrooms in our houses and cottages.
A popular Lakeland destination since opening in July 2016, The Lingholm Kitchen and Walled Garden serves Breakfast, Lunch and Afternoon Tea in a stunning glass-fronted building that looks down onto the restored walled garden.
Lingholm has a strong connection with Beatrix Potter, who spent ten Summer and Autumn holidays on the Estate. Beatrix credited The Lingholm Kitchen Garden as her original inspiration for Mr McGregor’s Garden in The Tale of Peter Rabbit. She also wrote The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin and the first draft of The Tale of Mrs Tiggy-Winkle whilst staying at Lingholm.
We are regular visitors to the Lakes and consider ourselves lucky to have found The Lingholm Estate self catering apartments. This is truly 5 star accommodation in a wonderfully restored country house, set in amazing grounds right on the banks of Derwent Water. It's an ideal location for walkers and those wanting to explore the northern Lakes.
Great cottage, comfortable and well equipped in excellent location. Swinside Inn good for meals but best to book at busy times. Breakfast and afternoon teas at the Walled Garden Kitchen well worth having.
Stayed at the Lingholm for the 3rd time, this time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We booked into the Lake View suite with the kids. It's always great to return and each time it gets better. The service, staff and family at the Lingholm are all first class.
